The genesis of this digital artwork is a couple things. First, I worked on it right after watching the Netflix documentary about Elisa Lam and the tragedy at the Cecil Hotel in L.A. This isn’t about her though, no connection, unless you want it to be a positive one. No cyber bullying, like what happenedContinue reading “Fearless”
A digital painting for our times. The subject can be anyone in modern America, a veteran, someone with PTSD like a victim of sexual assault, someone financially ruined by medical bills or loss of a job, or a victim of mental health issues or addiction. Homelessness is not discriminatory, it can affect anyone with redContinue reading “Abandoned America”
The Bluebell is a tree that blooms only once in a 1000 years, it’s bioluminescent flowers both fragrant and beautiful. The sentient tree is shy, however, and pulls its azure petals in tightly when gazed upon, so one must trick it by using a mirror or camera to view it.
When your doll points to something behind you, be very, very afraid. Inspired of course by horror movies en Español. I may take a break. I feel like I’m repeating myself with modern angst. As much as I’ve prodded the bounds of the supernatural I’ve never seen it’s presence, which is kind of a shame;Continue reading “The Doll”
Can art still shock and offend? Can it still cause questions to be asked? Can it drive a conversation? In today’s digital artwork, which for some reason just finished a four-hour rendering (maybe the rig was offended), I explore the dark side of the Romanticism movement. I’ve drawn on David Caspar Friedrich, who IMHO isContinue reading “Postpartum”
The battlefield, you hate it, yet it’s your job to go. Souls need the guidance to the afterlife. They cry for their mothers, their God, even though if you’d ask them before coming, they were adamantly atheist, but as soon as you arrive, they plead for you to free them from their destroyed bodies. ForContinue reading “Take Me in Your Arms, It’s alright.”
She wasn’t popular, and wasn’t an ‘it’ girl. She was stand-offish to everyone, but you summoned every ounce of courage, took a chance, and found what no others would; that she was a supermodel in mind, spirit, and the flesh. No one could match her. You won the lottery.
Humans don’t think the animal world gets along, but that’s just what they want us to think since we’re the most violent species on the planet. Here, a hidden photo, smuggled at great lengths, shows crows attempting to convey the experience of flight to mice. Don’t hate, one day I will be gone and theContinue reading “Learning to Fly”
Yesterday I created a piece called “Breakfast at Pharaohs,” you may not remember it. In a nutshell, the Queen took power from the Pharaoh via assassination and posed a-la Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. In today’s artwork, like a ghost-pepper omelette coming back to haunt later in the day, Pharaoh gets his revenge. Today’sContinue reading “Breakfast at Pharaohs Revenge”
