A #commentary on the #socialdistancing we’re supposed to be practicing due to #covid19 – I’m still seeing lots of people out having fun while I’m in hiding from the #virus dealing with #depression and #handwashing burnout, so I figured I’d make #art about it. The hardest part was getting the text on the newspaper to sit right. I had to do it in a couple different programs. Raiders of the Lost Roll – a commentary on #america in response to the #currentevents of the last few days. “She knew the last #roll of #tp was somewhere in the ruins of the city; her guide had spoken of the rumored location prior to being attacked after pulling out a Kleenex in public. Now, she almost had her hands on it. She guesstimated the weight of the spring trap underneath the idol… err, roll, ready to swap the roll out with an equally weighted object. Where My Girls At – Derived from the 2009 702 song of the same name that I was listening to while searching for ideas to #create today, I landed in the #dark #arts with this #light study. Most of my #artwork shows up better on a monitor than a phone, so, what’s going on in the scene? Well, it’s about a long #night of #drama with #zombies and that moment before all the action starts. She’s just thrown the grenade and has brought a knife to the fight. In a sense it’s about desperation, because she knows she’s probably screwed, but isn’t letting it get to her. I probably drew some from the #covid #virus going round, as well as the associated #angst and that’s why it’s dark. I’m mildly disappointed that with all the drama, we didn’t at least get #undead to shoot. …But what’s is really about, Rob? Uhh, light. Sunkist. So when I was putting together that atrocious work from yesterday, there was an angle of sun that was poetic on the girl, not so much on the dude. I made the mental note to go back later and redo the #painting . So, I ripped apart that scene, took out the trash, & pretty much kept her in the same pose. I was #doodling tonight and ended up composing a #love story. For the subject matter, I drew on my self-perceptions as applied in a #relationship sense – although here there are bigger #muscles and more #hair … the dude too, lol. The focus I guess is those little magical moments between all the big issues, doubts, fears, hopes, and dreams, where people connect with their souls. Make sense? Ghouls Night Out – Some say Ellie was scared of exactly nothing until that #night she mistook the All #Ghouls Club as a #cheeky play on the #Halloween season. As the thumping synth-pop beats of New Order surrounded her, she knew she’d have to discard all of her notions of #undead life to survive the night. This #artwork started out serious until Bizarre Love Triangle (7” Canadian mix) came on while I was creating; I didn’t stop laughing until I hit the render switch. Small problems. Somewhere in a #dungeon our brave #adventurers run across a potential new member, there’s just one small problem with the party dynamics, the #orc is terrified of #mice … the #sorceress thinks the #mouse is cute, while the other #fighter argues the #meta of each in future combat. The program was acting weird with this one, so I figured I’d print & release it before crashing.
