Last #digitalart for the Teens, happy #newyear ! This is a #fireworks #painting in honor of the millions of photos of rockets-red-glaring that will be posted tonight and tomorrow. The composition started as a nod to #caspardavidfriedrich , *the* #german #painter of the #romance era. I then changed the gotterdammerung effect he used so well of the sunset into #night as I wanted to showcase the gnarly #dead #tree against the #moon – but that was boring, so I added a #woman and her #cat / #kitten – but that was boring too! I thought of fireworks, but that was not my style, and so pedestrian. So, I channeled #hplovecraft (my fav.) and the #cthulhu #mythos to add a different kind of explosive anticipation. #digital #illustration #render #artist

A conversation with a good friend sparked this #art. She mentioned there exists, on some order of scale, an #international consortium of #witches / #mages dedicated to the #binding (which is not ‘cursing’, per se, more like making sure the covers are on the electrical outlets for children at play) of a certain politician – I don’t get into the #politics of it all, as I’m sick of both sides, but I thought it made for an amusing #commentary of the times in which we live. I also gave a nod to the #Witcher and it’s use of balance regarding #magic use (the woman in back – because it’s a strong adversary) #digital #painting #artwork

The #xenomorph – or maybe she’s the byproduct of terraforming, her #skin having taken a #blue tinge by the atmosphere here, and her hair obliterated by radiation from the nearby gas giant, or maybe by the #artist in the pursuit of a persistent black spot that marred her forehead. Still, she’s #beautiful in the dying light, as she excitedly leads you to the high ground of her #alien #planet to take in the view. She is me (but much hotter), in a sense, a purveyor of #worlds to you, the viewer. Are you interested? Do you want to see more of these things she sees? The Struggle. Another #digitalpainting in the #religious stream of things. I’m not, religious that is, I just like the whole idea of a conflict between #good and #evil – it’s such good #gothic storytelling. Here we have someone #psychologically #broken – maybe with #ptsd or #depression – who is working out his #demons while holding on to sanity and all that is good in his life. He’s at a crossroads with competing forces vying for dominion over his soul… or maybe I like women with wings, suits me. #art #painting #illustration #angel blah blah.

This view is looking towards the district from Highborn bridge on the Arbormomd River. Chrachton Fortress looms in the background. Another view of the Onadiff-Effing market. This view is a filler, my goal is about 20 different images for the town sourcebook.
