Clever Girl

If I’ve used this title before, after all, there are over 300 of these, a little under 699 away from Van Gogh’s prolific-ness, then I’ll call it something like “Clever Girl, the series.” “But what does it all mean, Basil?,” as Austin Powers says. It’s a continuation of the warrior theme from yesterday. Missed that … Read more

Boss Fight

When the gig is up and you’ve been discovered sneaking around the evil temple. Hundreds of hooded monks fly into the room, making all sorts of martial arts noises, while playing with their weapons of choice. You draw your sword, toss the sheath, and give the oncoming antagonists a look of confidence, like this is … Read more

New Plan – Run

Silene had known this wasn’t going to be easy. Their kingdom had been plagued by a fire-spewing dragon dwelling in a nearby cave / pond, poisoning the countryside. To prevent it from affecting the city itself, the people offered it two sheep daily, then a man and a sheep, and finally their children and youths, … Read more

Woman on a Pedestal

I was going to try my hand at making music again today. You didn’t know I composed music? Trust me, the gods don’t want you to know. if you’re a glutton for punishment, there’s four albums worth buried somewhere on my website. But I digress! I was going for a spin on ye old FL studio and was, like, “today I feel like a better artist,” so, here you go. It’s a Sorceress, Druid, or Witch Queen harnessing the elements atop the crumbling ruins of a lost civilization. Seems fitting for our times, or at the minimum to satisfy my ennui. How’d she get atop a column so high? Magic, women’s intuition, or artistic license. I just put her there, she’s on her own getting down.

Denouement

I really don’t have anything artsy or insightful to say. I just wanted to create something with the single source strong light, and am ambient light, which was used a lot in Dutch / Northern Renaissance paintings. She’s bloody, she could use a shower, but she’s survived.

Here’s the close-in.

Course of Action

“Habibi stood looking down at the encampment below. There were too many of them. She could handle maybe 10 at a time, 15 with her horse, but the 100-odd troops below guarding the palace entrance would need something other than a frontal attack. Thoughts raced through her mind. She needed to think of something fast, before her horse decided to eat all of her hair”.

A new digital doodle for you. It’s what I do with the little free time I have.

Queen of the Underdark

Queen G’elzanna was becoming impatient with the interlopers from the surface. The under dark was her world. They did not belong, even if they came with gifts. The Drow would not suffer long a ruler who made peace with the surface dwellers. Then one of them blurt out something that intrigued her. The planet was dying, and if that happened, neither surface dweller nor Drow would survive. She decided she would not throw them into the dungeons just yet.

Video of Recent Art

I’m truly sorry I’ve not done anything in the last couple of days. I’m working through proposals at work (to pay for my art!) and skin cancer to boot, but last night at 3ish, I made this video of recent art (going back to October (ish). I’ll get creative again soon! I kind of want to do a full length video of all the artwork I’ve done, but it would be significantly longer than 2 minutes – more along the lines of an hour. Maybe over the holiday weekend.

The Morning Star

“Her reputation preceded her, judging by the gasps of the people on the way to the castle. She was synonymous with evil, and had adopted the nickname of the light bringer, Lucifer. There was irony in that it was the same as the weapon she used to dispatch justice on those who had wronged her as she made her way back to the root of the problem. As she crested the hill, the familiar ramparts greeted her, and she smiled, in her unsmiling way, a most wicked smile; for she was home.”

Some hot off the render digital art I ginned up over the last couple days (and a backstory). The castle you can barely see in her eyes, which were the focus of all of this. Actually, it was reflections therein I was working on.
