Amber Vigil

The product "Amber Vigil" features a wide-eyed owl with striking red eyes, perched on a branch. The owl maintains an alert watch, surrounded by leafy branches, while a large, glowing yellow moon dominates the background, set against a twilight sky with scattered clouds.

Art Review: “Amber Vigil”
By Elise Ritter, Chief Curator at Kunstlicht Gallery, Zurich

“As autumn’s palette unfolds across the Zurich art scene, “Amber Vigil” emerges as a profound statement within Kunstlicht Gallery’s latest collection. This striking piece commands attention, encapsulating the essence of the harvest season through the vigilant eyes of an owl set against the backdrop of a harvest moon.

The artist, whose identity remains as enigmatic as their work, employs a bold contrast between the cool blues of the night and the warm yellows of the moon. This interplay of color is not just visually arresting but also symbolically rich, presenting the owl as a guardian of the nocturnal hours, a keeper of the secrets that the darkness holds.

What is particularly mesmerizing about “Amber Vigil” is the artist’s ability to render the owl’s feathers with such intricate detail that they seem almost tactile. The texture invites the viewer to imagine the softness of the feathers juxtaposed with the creature’s steely gaze, a reminder of nature’s dual capacity for grace and ferocity.

At Kunstlicht Gallery, we are continually in pursuit of art that transcends mere aesthetics to evoke a deeper resonance. “Amber Vigil” achieves this with an eloquence that is both rare and exhilarating. It is a piece that does not shy away from the contemplative silence of its subject but instead embraces it, offering a portal into a world that thrives beneath the serene surface of the night.

Amber Vigil

In conclusion, “Amber Vigil” is a masterful celebration of the cycles of nature, a worthy homage to the timelessness of the harvest season, and a testament to the enduring power of art to capture our world’s silent, yet profound, moments.”

Note: I’m in no way in any part of this website trying to get people to think I’m in the international art scene, I’m not. Like Vermeer, I will be a nobody until someone tries to hawk my work on the New Paris, Martian art scene in 250 years for a few bucks. My goal for now is to have the original work critiqued by AI, with a bit of irony, amusement and flair, because otherwise the paragraph would be “my latest painting.. Err, title? Uhhh…” You deserve more words than that, though the art speaks for itself. Let me know if you have issue with this. Thanks.

Echoes of an Eldritch Moon

The product named "Echoes of an Eldritch Moon" is a surreal painting that depicts a giant red moon setting over a calm ocean, with several large, glowing turquoise tentacles emerging from the water. The sky is an otherworldly mix of dark purples and blues.

Today’s #artwork while vending at the Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire. It’s basically a #kraken or other #cthulhu / #tentacle monster in the #harvest #moon. Be kind, it was 90 degrees and hot, I didn’t have shade for a lot of the #painting day. Asking $250. Will have prints at some point in the future.

A Celebration of Máni

Fearless

The genesis of this digital artwork is a couple things. First, I worked on it right after watching the Netflix documentary about Elisa Lam and the tragedy at the Cecil Hotel in L.A. This isn’t about her though, no connection, unless you want it to be a positive one. No cyber bullying, like what happened to Morbid. I’ve also done rooftop art scenes in the past, so it may be a theme of mine. Finally, the challenge was to make a realistic looking city without building all the city resources – which would tank my rig. I took the cheap way and created a 2D primitive with a city picture I found on Pinterest. The next challenge was to bring about a 3D feel, while getting the visual angles vis-a-vis the camera correct, and integrating the background with what’s going on in the foreground. After that hurdle, I had to get the ambient lighting of a rooftop correct. So, there’s the moon, the city below, the towers above with their red-lights, random rooftop lighting, etc., in order to bring it all together. Let me know what you think?

Moon Goddess in a Box

What’s it about? Err, I don’t know. I may be a bit tipsy with creating this artwork – I do know that I started out with the idea of using the human body as a frame for what’s in the picture, so, goal achieved. She’s a regal woman constrained by the borders of the art, but she has power, as reflected in the claws on her tattoo – this won’t make sense in the morning, but who she is at night, with the moon behind her is not the limit of her power.

Unleashed

I didn’t want to let the first day of a new year go by without creating some artwork, so here you go. It was originally named ‘Flight’, but I used that yesterday. So I solved the conundrum and changed the name to the song I had on repeat while I was creating it; because one should credit where one draws inspiration, and it’s as much a part of the total package for me.

Now, for legal reasons and all, these two things are not associated, nor am I riding coat-tails. I’m merely sharing what inspired me. The song is ‘Unleashed’ by Two Steps from Hell (one of my favorite groups). The composer is Thomas Bergersen, and Merethe Soltvedt provides the vocalization. I visualize the birds taking off at 2:50, or here:

The Joy of Flight

Remember when you were a kid, and you pretended you were on a rocket ship or airplane as you tried to swing higher and higher? That’s the feeling I’m going for with this. Whether or not I’ve achieved it is up to you, as that is the purpose of art. It’s a fantasy piece, to end a not so great year and bring in a new one full of hope, happiness, and dreams. I could explain the piece but I’m hoping you get it without that bit of tediousness. Happy New Year.

The Selfie

In all of humankind’s explorations and raging against the borders of the unknown, there has been one thing it has never been able able to resist – the selfie. From the first transistors that allowed us to capture our location for our aggrandizement on social media, it has also been our downfall. Many have gone over cliffs, bridges, retaining walls, and railings in pursuit of the ultimate presentation of self. But no one has gone as far as that person in 2162, who, after calculating the risks and minimizing the egregious lapse in judgement, took a deep breath, uncoupled their helmet, and took the ultimate selfie. The death report listed the cause as ‘suspicious’ but ‘definitely not a problem with the helmet locking mechanism.’

Note, I’m not impugning the ladies with this image, it could just as easily be a man, and more than likely would be. I just find women to be easier on the eyes as far as art is concerned.

The Gardener

This is a doodle playing on the question “what if our universe were just an atom in a bigger thing, like a sewage pipe?” – it would explain a lot 🙂 I took some previously used elements and combined them in a different way, so, yeah. The gardener, an Android whose head provides life for the fruits of her garden, tends the various seeds of life in her garden. Space within space I guess is the theme.

Callisto’s Secrets

The second largest #moon of #jupiter and the third largest moon in the solar system, #callisto is an ancient celestial body. She may contain at least two oceans under her surface. Tidally locked to her #jovian parent, seen in the background (an actual #nasa photograph), Callisto harbors one of the best chances for ancient life. This #artwork captures the moment in the next century that mankind discovers the secrets she harbors. #art #digitalartist #new #dailydoodle #dogs in #space
